I was asked by the editor of In the Moment magazine to write a series of four columns for its Creativity section over four issues, discussing topics as diverse as confidence, balance and courage. The brief was to share personal anecdotes and I really enjoyed drawing on my time as editor of Mollie Makes and Oh Comely to share some stories I hadn't put in writing yet. A few readers got in touch to tell me they'd found these pieces very relatable, which was affirming!
Book editing
Sarah P. Corbett of the Craftivist Collective asked me to edit her third book, a beautiful art and activism handbook that merges her craft projects with her Gentle Protest methodology – the 'how' and the 'why' of craftivism – creating a useful, inspirational resource for anyone who wants to make the world a kinder, fairer place. She crowd-funded the project through pioneering publishers Unbound and I worked as a freelance editor for them to deliver the finished book. I sourced a photographer, designers and experts to help bring it all together while guiding Sarah in her writing, tone and clear craft instructions.
Sarah and I have a long collaborative relationship and I have also produced a series of Yearbooks for her to send to her patrons and provided marketing services here and there to gain magazine coverage for her various campaigns.
